Sticky Note Tuesday: Costume Stress!

Trying to find Shelby her Alice costume for her upcoming party is just S-T-R-E-S-S-I-N-G me out!! I cannot believe it's in a week and a half!!

Well at least I have all the decorations and general ideas of stuff.....

Here's a picture of the room....

Granted it won't have all the tables and stuff in the way. It's long!! I took pictures so I can start thinking of the lay out of stuff...... I sure do enjoy planning parties even though it stresses me out. I can never do things the easy way and I have to add more and more stuff..... Luckily the hubs enjoys it too! :)

At the Car Wash.....

Shelby had wanted a new pair of boots she saw at Rue 21 after we already bought her new pair of shoes. Her daddy said she could work it off by washing both vehicles. She started with my van Sunday.

Shelby & Robert both working hard on cleaning the van.

When Robert saw me with my camera, he said either grab a sponge and help or get out of here. It was hot & humid so he was not in the best of moods.... :) Needless to say I wasn't stupid so I left.

Wow look how clean! I thought my van was white, and not brown. ha!

Post It Note Tuesday: Happy Birthday Brandy!

Today was Brandy's birthday party after work. I love this girl. She has a I Can attitude, and is just always there when I need her. I am fortunate to be able to work with her. We celebrated her birthday at Bar Louie.

Here's the silly birthday girl with me. Looks like she's licking my ear. HA!

Ok, now let's do a serious pic. Doesn't she have gorgeous hair!

Here she is blowing out her candles on her cake.

Here are a few other pics.

Here are two pics of my other two buddies. Lisa the first one lives in Fayetteville, and was only here to help us out because we were short handed. :( I wish she was here all the time.

And here is Connie. She is my buddy, and is also my back up buddy when she moves out to our office next week. I can't wait!!!! I love this girl! She is so much fun and so down to earth.

Happy Birthday Brandy! I hope it was a great one!

First Blog Sample & Prayer Request

Well I get to do my first blog sample review here soon..... I get to review a product called Bryton Floss. It seems REALLY cool.... Having braces, it's a pain to floss and these are made for people without braces and with braces. These are suppose to make it easier. I cannot wait to try it out. I will post a review as soon as I get them and try them out.

Please continue to pray for our family, as well as pray for Harley. Again this is something I cannot publicly share just yet, but hopefully can in the near future.

Worn Out Week-end

This past week-end we went shopping for new school clothes and school supplies (Friday night grocery shopping). This is the time of year that parent's look forward too. NOT! You start out in good spirits and then everyone starts getting tired and then the attitudes kick in. Times this by 3 teenage girls, and you get my life. :)

On Saturday morning we got up early and started at Academy Sports. We got Harley & Ashley's polos and all 3 a new pair of shoes.

We then went to JC Penneys for their jean sale and got Shelby some new tops as well since she can wear anything to school. Anyone that knows me, knows this is my absolute FAVORITE store and it was so hard for me not to look at stuff for myself. It wasn't about me..... :(

Then it was off to Rue 21. I swear the girls could spend FOREVER in there. It is a fun store, not to mention the prices are great! I got two new wallets for $10. Otherwise it was $9.99 for one. You don't have to tell me which is the better bargain.

Then we went to Gordman's. This was really more of a look around. I got a new red purse for $15. Love it!

Then it was off to Five Guys and Fries to finish up. YUMMY burger and fries!

We came home and napped and then off to church service. I always love going. We're doing Big Screen the next 3 week-ends.

Today is a lazy Sunday. Napping all day. :)

Post It Note Tuesday: Stressed for a good party!

If only she wasn't turning 16 then I wouldn't be having to worry if this momma is going to pull it off! :)

Say It Isn't So......

I CANNOT belive that school is starting back up in less then 16 days! Now that my girls are older and in higher grades where projects are mandatory, I dread school time. I dread the homework and making breakfast and lunches. I like letting them sleep in while I get ready for work and being able to come straight home after work. My oldest baby is a JUNIOR!!!!! It just blows my mind and doesn't seem possible. Seems like they should still be this small...

Shelby's birthday is in less then 23 days and her party in 25 days. Trying to find the right costume(s) for her has been very frustrating. As a mom you want everything to be just right and for your child to stand out. I've found a Alice in Wonderland Reversible Costume (2-n-1) that I think would be so neat. I've included it below. I told Shelby that she could be the sweet Alice starting out at her party and then switch to the other Alice half way through. Her comment "Mom, that is so My Super Sweet Sixteen from MTV". I said "I know! Isn't it great!" ha! I'm so excited to be able to do this for her. (I just wish they weren't this short!)

I wish I could find someone that could sew really good and make this dress....

It would be soooooooooooooooooo worth it!

Chicks Are Back In Their Nest & Party

Well my girls made it home yesterday evening around 6. It feels so good to have them back home where I know they're safe, and back in my arms. Harley said she didn't know she could miss home so much. :) I think they were ready to be home.

Well Shelby's party planning is under way for her Sweet 16..... I'm so excited!!! Below are a few pics of ideas we have come up with so far. We are doing Alice in Wonderland Masquerade. Basing it off of the 2010 movie.

Her invites....

I got the jars that will have the "Drink Me" tabs.

These cute buckets will have candy in them with the "Eat Me" tabs.

The party favors will be cups, with candy in them wrapped in the white netting, with the tag of "Drink Me" as well, but with Shelby's name, Sweet 16, and the date.

I'll try to share more ideas as we go along, but I can't share all of them.... Ha ha! Gotta keep up the suspense somehow. Again if you have any ideas, leave me a comment. Party is August 28th!

Praise & Girls Are Heading Home!!

I have to first offer up praise for my daughter's boyfriend's dad. He has been sick and was on dialisis (why do words look like they're spelled wrong when you think it's right?) anywho... A kidney came available so he had a transplant last night!! Praise the Lord! I pray that this all continues to go well and his dad pulls through this. Please keep Darrell and his family in your prayers....

The girls are heading home from Arizona as of late tonight. :) Might be home Saturday, maybe Sunday.

Last night, the hubs and I went to Olive Garden.....

I love their Chicken & Gnocchi soup. YUM!! Hubs had his usual Chicken Parmigean.

We then came home and played a card game called Spit. It's also known as Speed. My friend Teresa and I use to play this all hours of the night. VERY competitive and the hubs and I are very competitive.... Not a good mix HA!!!!

Since yesterday was Wordless Wednesday, I couldn't possibly tell you what all we did. I try to honor the rules.... Doesn't that pic look like Hammy has buck teeth? He had actually been licking frosting.... I know bad momma.....

So the girls are coming home. Please pray for their safety. Can't believe my Shelby will be 16 next month. We are doing Alice in Wonderland Masquerade from the newest Alice in Wonderland. I gotta get busy..... Please share any ideas you have by leaving a comment.

This will forever be my favorite picture of the girls. This was for Robert for Father's Day back when they had to be 10, 8 & 7, or somewhere along there....

I promise to get better about taking pictures again. :)

6th Day Girls Gone..... Got the Answer!!!

My girls are always asking me how I can overlook certain things dad does, or how I can get over his temper tantrum (HA!) so quickly.....

Here's my answer: We live, we love, we forgive and never give up. Because the days we are living are gifts from the Lord, and daily reminded to live and to love....

So I finally figured out the best answer. :)

I sure hope the girls are having fun and behaving. I wonder what they're up too.

Thought I would take you back to the good old days.... When the girls were all sweet and stuff.

Oh I miss them being little....

My how they change. Even their taste & looks change....

I miss the good ole days.

3rd & 4th Day of Girls Being Gone....

So as I told you in the last post, Papa had a story to go with the list of rules...

Young lady asks grandfather: Papa may we go eat some habaneras peppers?

What flashes through his mind in under a secong:

1. YOU DO NOT HAVE A CLUE HOW HOT THOSE PEPPERS ARE
2. IT MIGHT BE FUN WATCHING YOU CRY
3. I DO NOT FEEL LIKE DEALING WITH IT RIGHT NOW
4. MAYBE LATER

SO HE ANSWERS: NO

The last thing he wants to hear is:

WHY NOT?

Refer to thought #3.

"WHY NOT" TURNS ME MENTALLY INTO THE INCREDIBLE HULK.

#2 cracks me up. How many of you ever felt that way??? This story is a result in 1) Ashley ALWAYS says Why Not? She is our very inquisitive child. 2) Harley wanted to try some chocolate Papa had and he told her she wasn't going to like. She said yes I will. It was like 5x7 size of chocolate. Problem was it was BITTER chocolate. So Papa told her if she was going to try it she would have to eat all of it. She tried it and immediately hated it!

Speaking of chocolate and Harley, Robert and her got in to a frosting fight.... It was from her birthday cake.

The picture below is from our trip to Petite Jean. Shelby & Ashley sitting on one of the big rocks, by the waterfall. I'll do a post on those pictures soon. I got some good ones.

Below is a picture of me, Robert, Hammy, mom and dad from New Year's.

This is who my girls are with, my parents...... God love them!!! 3 teenagers.... Thank you mom and dad, for spending time with my girls.... I know it hasn't been easy.

2nd Day of Girls Being Gone.....

So I thought why not share pictures of this past year about the girls that way I kind of kill two birds with one stone.

I have to share first, the rules that Papa laid out for the girls for the trip. Too funny!

While We Are on the Road:

1. Keep your hands to yourself.
2. Do not invade another person's space.
3. If you get mad about something just smile, close your eyes and pretend that you see Santa Claus placing presents around the tree and he is naked.
4. If you are still mad count from 50 to 1.
5. It is ok to cut up while we are riding but if papa says to be quiet, BE QUIET, do not make me turn green and yell. I do not like to yell and you will not like me when I yell.
6. Be kind.

Ok my favorite has to be #3, and I love how #5 is snuck in there right before the Be Kind. HA HA!!!

He also had a story for the girls as an analogy, but I'll share that the next time. For fear of a too long of a post.

I hope the girls are ok, and are behaving well..... I know they will have fun once they reach their destination. I hope they are taking pictures.

Before I close, I want to ask for prayers for our family. I can't go in to details at the moment, but please know your prayers are very much appreciated and hopefully I will be able to tell you what you were praying for soon.

**Pictures are from Gulf Shores trip Thanksgiving week 2009.

1st Day of the Girls Being Gone.....

And I really miss them! What's up with that? We have all been really close here lately. They are growing up so fast. They will be gone until August 1st. A week and a half! At least they get to have a great vacation with so many fun things to do, right before school. :)

So I thought I would share a couple of pics of the girls.

Shelby & I at a concert. She cracks me up with her expressions in pictures.

Not sure how I got this pic of Harley & Ashley, but I can hear the laughing in this picture, and it makes me laugh.

I hope & pray they are safe and that they behave themselves...... {hint} {hint}

Coming Up to Breathe.....

This is exactly how I can describe my life right now. I have had some ups and downs and to me it feels like more downs then ups. This has been going on since last August. I've had to face some stuff that I had stuffed down inside of me, and when a good friend of mine passed away last August, it all came bubbling out.

I feel like right now things are brighter then they have been. I've had to learn I can't always have peace, and here lately the biggie "IT'S NOT ABOUT ME!" to certain extent. I have felt so under water and out of control with my emotions. There's only one that's in control. He is teaching me that.

I will post pictures that I've gotten since last year and try to update everyone. Again this is to keep my family updated. Especially those that I've recently added to Facebook.

I know there are hardly any of you that read this, but those that have thanks for sticking by me.

2nd 5K from "Women Can Run" May 2010

My friend Lisa S., lives in Rogers up in NW Arkansas. We decided awhile back that we would train for a 5K and meet up in Conway. This was my 2nd year and this was her 1st year. Each year clinics pop up all over AR for women to train for a 5K and everyone meets up in Conway for the graduation race. You can do walking, beginning running or advanced running. We both did beginning running.

I'm so proud of myself. I beat my time from last year! Hard to see in this pic. I did 54 minutes last year and this year I did it in 45 minutes....

I have learned I do not ever want to do another race without my hubby or family there. One, I miss having someone at the finish line and two, someone to take a lot more pictures!

Off to train for the 1/2 marathon again for October.....

Broken

Well I've been missing from the blog world. Trying to get better. I'll try to post pictures later.

Since probably October or November, I've kind of gone through a dark period. Depressed. Tired. Broken. Just when I think things are getting better, I'm down again. I guess getting back up is what counts.

This is exactly how I feel. Broken all around my heart, but slowly mending back together.
