Shelby's 14th Birthday!!

~~Shelby turns 14~~

We had a small family party for Shelby's 14th birthday party. She got A LOT of cash due to her saving up for her Ipod Touch, which she got with her OWN money. Anyone that knows how much that is can appreciate a child that sets a goal and her mind to save up that kind of cash for one expensive item.
Cake all lit up! Robert bakes the cakes for the girls and I frost and decorate. It's a way to save money! I mean why spend so much money on something that's going to be eaten?
Shelby making her 14th wish! :''''-) My baby is still my baby!
Way to go dad!!! Shelby got a new hoodie for school with Arkansas Baptist's name and mascot on it.
She was soooooooooo excited to get Guitar Hero for her XBox. It's just now when she says mom I got a 98% or even 100% I'm expecting it to be a school grade, but it's on guitar hero!!! HA HA!!!

Family Vacation Trip to Eureka Springs

We decided before Shelby & Harley started school on the 11th and Ashley on the 18th we would take a quick family vacation the first week in August. OH and by the way, my right foot was still in a cast, but luckily I could walk in it. :)

We left out on Sunday, August 3rd.

Even Hammy got to go! I just couldn't stand the thought of boarding him. He's our precious little boy!! No one can take good care of him like momma!

We got to Eureka Spring about 1 and of course our room wasn't ready so we had to go kill some time by driving around. We were then able to check in our room and leave Hammy in his bedroom while we went and had some fun playing putt putt golf and go carts!! Harley
Shelby
Robert (OH my back!!) :)
Ashley

Robert being a kid again!!

Ashley after she rammed into the back of Robert's go cart.

Excuse me Miss., but do you have a license? Harley :)

After all the excitement we retired to our rooms (yes I said rooms! hooray!) and took care of Hammy and got some much needed rest. It was sooooooooooo hot!!!

On Monday we went to the Tiger Turpentine Refuge and Promiseland Zoo, a drive through/petting zoo!
Okay this is something you don't see. A tiger in a bath tub full of water!!! I thought cats hate water!!!
Very beautiful in person, picture does not do it justice!
This close to wildlife!!
In fact this guy had no problem coming up to the car at all! He freaked me out everytime he got too close so that's why he's off center. Robert feeding the llmas.... Don't let them spit on you!!
Ashley feeding a baby goat.
Harley was feeding something but can't remember what.
Shelby feeding a sheep and the osterich trying to get to her too.

We then went to the Thorncrown Chapel, that has all this glass! Hopefully I got the name right.

Robert and I both thought of his dad when we saw this and his wood carving skills.....

We then went to Blue Springs and I got a couple of shots below this. Normally they have beautiful flowers around the falls but the water had flown over the flowers and every thing and had just started receding the week before we got there. The water was very blue in some parts.

We saw the Beaver Dam on the way to Blue Springs and on the way back we stopped and I took a picture.

This was all on Monday so needless to say we were exhausted, plus we did some shopping!! FUN!!!!

On Tuesday we spent most of the day at Passion of Christ. We did the Holy Land tours and here are just a few pics of the girls. Oh we also did the Earth Museum, and Art Museum. We had their buffet for dinner right before the play and then watched the Passion Play.
Shelby found a baby lizard crawling on her. We had to take a pic!

Harley and Ashley on the tram car.
First stop was the temple. Harley wanted her picture made with one of the priest.
This was the inn that Joseph and Mary tried to get a room. The door is short and not too wide to keep the soldiers and horses out.
Shelby on the tram car.
The girls at the Last Supper.
We did more shopping in between the the museums and coming back later for the supper and then the play. We didn't get back to our room until after 10.

We had thought we would come back on that Thursday but Robert and I were exhausted and my foot (the one in the cast) was really getting bad. So we decided to leave out on that Wednesday but before we did we stopped at Cosmic Caverns. The girls and us had fun!! Try walking down stairs and up with a cast on. The family can't say I wasn't a trooper!!
The girls!
Oh look I made in a pic finally!!
A family photo to finish it all.

All in all we had a great time and Hammy did great too! I'm glad we took his bedroom (kennel). We were glad to get home and have an extra day of rest!

Shelby's New Look

Well the girls started school last Monday and the week-end before I took her to get her haircut and for the first time she wanted to wear make-up!!! So needless to say I took advantage of this. Shelby has always been a tomboy and she'll be 14 a week from today so she's getting a little girly....
